In the last two decades, we have witnessed the development of many
innovative devices and original techniques for providing haptic sensations
in artistic settings. This includes the tactile enrichment of music
listening and performance experiences, haptic soundscapes, interactive
installations leveraging tactile interfaces, immersive multimedia
experiences exploring the nuances of touch, or the haptic enhancement of
digital musical instruments. There is a growing interest in the haptics
community in investigating interfaces and perceptual phenomena at the
confluence of art and haptics, as demonstrated by the Art & Design Track at
the 2024 Eurohaptics conference.
New system perspectives are needed to develop the next generation of haptic
interfaces for artistic contexts, which pose significant challenges at the
technical and perceptual levels. Overcoming these challenges requires a
transdisciplinary approach, involving engineering, human-computer
interaction, performance studies, and the arts in general. Generating a
dialogue between these research fields will be beneficial for obtaining
innovative results in constructing future haptic interfaces for artistic
usages.
The intent of this special issue is to define a promising road-map for the
development of future haptic interfaces for artistic contexts, pushing the
boundaries of haptic exploration and offering unique perspectives that
blend technological innovation with sensory engagement. We invite
technically rigorous submissions that challenge, provoke, and expand these
frontiers. Submissions that neglect to rigorously explore the links between
the arts and at least one of the fields of engineering, computer science,
or human-computer interaction will not be considered.

Abstract and Topics
Following the successful series of PATCH workshops, PATCH 2025 will be
again the meeting point between state-of-the-art cultural heritage research
and personalization – using any kind of technology, while focusing on
ubiquitous and adaptive scenarios, to enhance the personal experience in
cultural heritage sites. The workshop is aimed at bringing together,
physically and/or virtually, researchers and practitioners who are working
on various aspects of cultural heritage and are interested in exploring the
potential of state of the art mobile technology (onsite as well as online)
to enhance the CH visit experience. The expected result of the workshop is
a sharing and discussing novel ideas and creating a multidisciplinary
research agenda that will inform future research directions and hopefully,

SUBMISSION AND DECISIONS

Authors should prepare an Abstract (1 - 2 pages) that clearly indicates the
originality of the contribution and the relevance of the work. The Abstract
should include the title of the paper, names and affiliations of the
authors, an abstract, keywords, an introduction describing the nature of
the problem, a description of the contribution, the results achieved and
their applicability.
As an alternative to the traditional abstract, it is possible to submit a
Graphical Abstract. Read the paragraph below for further information.
When the first review process has been completed, authors receive a
notification of either acceptance or rejection of the submission. If the
abstract has been accepted, the authors can prepare a full paper.

(IR4U2) - Bridging User-centered AI with IR: Making Information Retrieval
Accessible for All
Please join us at IR4U2, co-located with the 48th International ACM SIGIR
Conference on Research and Development in Information Retrieval, which will
take place 13th-18th July 2025 in Padua, Italy
Information Retrieval (IR) remains an active, fast-paced area of research.
Nevertheless, most advancements in this domain have primarily favored what
we might term 'conventional' users, such as adults from the global north.
We envision IR4U2 as a forum to spotlight research and industry efforts
that, while sparse, consider diverse, and often understudied, user groups.
Among these groups, we find, for example, older adults, young children and
adolescents, individuals afflicted by mental health disorders, users with
autism spectrum disorder (ASD), individuals with intellectual disabilities,
or those with specific learning needs.
In this second iteration of IR4U2, we will focus more specifically on a
**user-centred AI perspective**, which we believe is vital for informing
the design, development, and assessment of IR systems that thoughtfully
address the diverse needs of understudied populations, ensuring genuine
accessibility and inclusivity.
We aim to
• Build, extend and maintain a community involving multi-disciplinary Ph.D.
students, academics, and industry practitioners aiming to advance
understanding of core (AI for) IR technology and its impact on a broad
range of understudied users.
• Take inventory of the different kinds of use cases, research work,
ongoing efforts, and existing resources while reflecting on the progress
made since the last IR4U2 iteration.
• Define guidelines to promote user-centric design of IR systems.
• Outline a general approach to facilitate research endeavors driven by and
at the service of specific user groups
IR4U2 will be a highly participatory, full-day, in-person workshop. This
will involve informal interactions, facilitated group work, and brief
presentations of accepted contributions. These contributions will help
construct a snapshot of the current works in this area.

GoodIT 2025 will feature special tracks whose aim is to focus on a specific topic of interest related to the overall scope of the conference.
We solicit proposals for special tracks to be held within the main conference and whose publications will be included in conference proceedings. Special tracks proposals can focus on any contemporary themes that highlight social good aspects in the design, implementation, deployment, securing, and evaluation of IT technologies.

SPECIAL TRACK PROPOSAL FORMAT
A special track proposal must contain the following information:
** Title of the special track
** The names of the organizers (indicatively, two) with affiliations, contact information, and a single paragraph of a brief bio.
** A short description of the scope and topics of the special track (max 1/2 page) and a brief explanation of: (1) why the topic is timely and important; (2) why the topic is related to the conference’s main theme; (3) why the special track may attract a significant number of submissions of good quality.
** Indication if a journal special issue is associated with the special track, possibly with information on the process of selecting papers.
** The plan to disseminate the call for papers of the special track for achieving a reasonable number of paper submissions (a list of emailing lists will help).
** An outline of the foreseen reviewing process to ensure the scientific quality of the accepted papers including a tentative list of program committee members.

SELECTION OF SPECIAL TRACKS
Accepted Special Tracks will be curated by the Special Track Chairs, possibly involving other members of the conference’s organizing committee, and possibly discussing details with the Track Proposers.
PUBLICATION
Papers submitted to each special track have to satisfy the same criteria as for the main conference. They must be original works and must not have been previously published. They have to be peer-reviewed by the track’s Program Committee (at least three reviews per submitted paper are required). The final version of papers must follow the formatting instructions of the main conference. At least one of the authors of all accepted papers must register and present the work at the conference on site; otherwise, the paper will not be published in the proceedings. All accepted and presented papers will be included in the conference proceedings published in ACM Digital Library. The special track may provide an option for publishing the extended versions of selected papers in a special issue of a journal.

Smart Learning Ecosystems should perform at best on all the dimensions
that contribute to the well-being of students and all players involved
in the development of a learning process: /infrastructures, food,

mind, however, that technologies are smart not because they are capable
of replacing human reasoning but, rather because they can help towards

**Workshop Overview**
Building on the success of its first edition at HHAI 2024, the full-day workshop on "Stimulating Cognitive Engagement in Hybrid Decision-Making: Friction, Reliance, and Biases" advances the exploration of over-reliance and biases in Human-AI Interaction. Central to this discussion are approaches that intentionally introduce moments of cognitive effort and reflection into AI interactions to prevent passive or automatic reliance. While conventional AI design prioritises efficiency and seamlessness, this workshop invites participants to examine AI systems that strategically slow down decision-making when necessary to mitigate automation bias, cognitive offloading, and over-trust, ultimately fostering accuracy, responsibility, and human oversight.
Such friction-in-design encompasses strategies that encourage users to reflect before acting, such as requiring justification before accepting AI recommendations, displaying confidence scores with uncertainty visualisations, or using explainability mechanisms that slow decision-making to reinforce human oversight.
This workshop fosters interdisciplinary dialogue across AI research, cognitive science, HCI, and governance to ensure AI systems empower users rather than encourage unchecked reliance. The program will feature keynote presentations by leading experts in academia and industry, author presentations, and interactive discussions to advance the discourse on cognitively engaging and responsible AI design.

In a world in which technology is increasingly present in people’s lives, and changing human
behavior and attitudes is often the key to solving many societal and personal problems,
studying how technology might be used to influence humans (in their behavior, attitudes and
information processing), is paramount.
Persuasive Technology is a vibrant interdisciplinary research field, focusing on the design,
development and evaluation of interactive technologies aimed at influencing people’s attitudes
and/or behaviors through persuasion, but not through coercion or deception. The research
community aims at enriching people’s lives in various domains such as health and sustainability
by supporting people in setting and achieving their own goals, thus helping them change their
behavior.
The 2025 conference will be hosted in Limassol, Cyprus at the 5* St. Raphael Resort and Marina.
The previous successful conferences have been organized in Wollongong, Limassol, Eindhoven,
Stanford, Oulu, Claremont, Copenhagen, Columbus, Linköping, Sydney, Padua, Chicago,
Salzburg, Amsterdam, and Waterloo. The conference series seeks to bring together researchers
and practitioners from industry and academia working with various topics of persuasive
technology.
SCOPE
The scope of the conference includes (but is not limited to) the following topics:

Questions that we hope to be addressed include, but are not limited to:
• How to recognize and demonstrate the real life effects of persuasive technology on people’s
attitudes and behaviours?
• How to conduct studies that not just show their effectiveness but are also able to explain in
more detail why a design or intervention works?
• How to design an evaluation study so that it yields insights that are applicable to other
designs or interventions?
• How theoretical insight can help improve application and/or intervention planning and design?
• How can design and intervention studies improve theory?
SUBMISSION TYPES
All accepted papers in the different categories of additional contributions will appear in
the adjunct conference proceedings volume to be published by Springer in the CCIS series
(https://www.springer.com/series/7899).
All papers must be formatted using the Springer conference proceedings template
(https://www.springer.com/gp/computer-science/lncs/conference-proceedings-gu…).
The length of the paper is specified below for each different category of contribution.
Workshop Papers
The following workshops will have their accepted papers published in CCIS by Springer:

The workshop papers should be 12 pages in length (excluding references).
Extended Abstracts
They showcase the results of already conducted and unpublished studies where authors do not
wish to publish them as regular papers in the conference proceedings but rather present them
at the conference for discussions that can shape the final version (that may be submitted
elsewhere later). The studies will also be devoted a time slot for oral presentation in a special
session. Extended abstracts must be 4 to 6 pages in Springer CCIS format (including
references). Accepted abstracts will be included in the adjunct Springer CCIS proceedings,
unless the authors wish to opt out. Selected papers in this category, based on their quality,
level of timeliness, relevance and completion, will also be invited for submission to
Behaviour & Information Technology journal.
Late Breaking Results (LBR)
The papers in this category cover new research in any topic that regular paper submissions
cover and are expected to present new and emerging results. Authors should submit a 12
pages paper (excluding references) in Springer CCIS format. Accepted papers will be included
in the adjunct Springer CCIS proceedings.
Poster Presentations
This format is suitable for descriptions of smaller studies, project outlines, literature reviews or
work-in-progress. Authors should submit a 4-page paper in Springer CCIS format. Accepted
posters will be included in the adjunct Springer CCIS proceedings. Posters will be displayed and
presented during a dedicated session of the conference.
Demonstrations and Artefacts
The Persuasive 2025 track on Demonstrations and Artefact is intended to foster discussion and
exchange of ideas among researchers and practitioners from academia and industry by
demonstrating or presenting hardware and software products or artefacts, including those in
virtual settings (e.g., simulation systems, VR, and games), that range from early research
prototypes to mature production-ready systems. The contribution should be the result of
original, innovative work, including solving novel technical or research problems, and/or
creating novel individual or industrial UI/UX. Accepted demonstrations or presentations shall be
presented live during the conference and will be included as a 4-pages paper in Springer CCIS format in the adjunct Springer CCIS proceedings.
Doctoral Consortium Papers
The Doctoral Consortium is a special session of the conference where PhD students can receive
advice in a constructive atmosphere. Students present and discuss their research with other PhD
students and a panel of established researchers in the area of persuasive technology. Students
interested in participating in the Doctoral Consortium should submit a 12 pages proposal
(including references) in Springer CCIS format describing their research question, its position
with respect to the state of the art, their research plans and methodology, ideas, and results
achieved so far. Accepted papers will be included in the adjunct Springer CCIS proceedings
unless opted out by the student.

The “Mensch und Computer” (MuC) conference, launched in 2001, is the
largest conference series on human-computer interaction in Europe. MuC
offers participants from science and industry a platform for
contributions and discussions on innovative forms of interaction between
people and digital technology, on human-centered development methods,
interactive applications, and other topics in the field between users,
teams and communities on the one hand and information and communication
technologies used on the other hand. The aim of the conference is to
discuss innovative research results, to promote the exchange of
information between academia and practitioners, to stimulate research
activities and training, and to sensitize science, practice, and the
public to the relevance of human- and task-oriented technology design.

We invite you to submit proposals for workshops at Mensch und Computer.
Workshops are a gathering place for attendees with shared interests to
meet in the context of a focused and interactive discussion. Workshops
are an opportunity to move a field forward and build community: a chance
to find people who care about the same issues, questions, and research
agendas as you. Workshops may address any topic relevant to the HCI
community, e.g., questions of basic research and applied research, HCI
practice, HCI education, new methodologies, emerging application areas,
ethics, sustainability, or design innovations. Most workshops (half or
full-day) take place on Sunday before the start of the technical
program, but workshops can also be run on Monday or Tuesday.
As Workshop Chairs, we will create a carefully curated list of workshops
that reflects the needs and desires of the community. Please note that
we might propose modifications and augmentations, such as suggesting
that workshops be combined where appropriate.
The workshop should address timely topics and phenomena; therefore, it

INTERACT 2025 is the 20th International Conference of Technical Committee 13 (Human- Computer Interaction) of IFIP (International Federation for Information Processing).
INTERACT is a highly international conference and welcomes papers on all aspects of human-computer interaction.
The theme of the conference is “Blending Experiences in Interaction Design”.
INTERACT 2025 will be hosted at Belo Horizonte, the capital of Minas Gerais in Brazil. The state of Minas Gerais has a rich diversity with the blending of experiences encompassing a hot pot of cultures and ancestries from around the world, mixing heritage and modern, hand-made traditional artifacts and high-tech industry.
This context provides inspiration to bring research challenges to designing blending experiences with virtual and physical, different cultures, and a growing blending of human-created and artifacts generated by artificial intelligence.

In 1960, Joseph Licklider envisioned "Man-Computer Symbiosis" where computation would augment human intellect. Today, as AI systems work alongside people in tasks from visual analytics to code generation, we are learning to design truly synergistic systems where humans and AI work flexibly together, leveraging their complementary abilities.
Following our successful first edition at AVI 2024 (https://synergy.trx.li/2024/), this workshop brings together researchers exploring the design, implementation, and evaluation of meaningful human-AI collaboration systems. The workshop will include consortium partners from the new €10M EU project TANGO "It takes two to tango: a synergistic approach to human-machine decision making".

*Motivation and Rationale*
Web3 and Decentralized Finance (DeFi) are two key factors of the new
Internet era. They are redefining the landscape of digital
communications and distributed systems, offering new opportunities for
secure, resilient, and scalable applications. The worldwide adoption of
Web3 is reshaping how users experience Internet services by including
concepts such as decentralization, democratization and rewarding in
existing services. The main engine of Web3 is blockchain technology.
However, there are numerous areas where there is room for improvement.
To begin with, most Web3 applications revolve around DeFi, however, the
decentralisation offered by blockchain technology could help plenty of
scenarios. Promising scenarios are supply chains, health, decentralized
storage, data sharing, power grids, virtual worlds (like the Metaverse)
and many more. Additionally, there are other scenarios where Web3 could
have a meaningful impact, including IoT, vehicular networks, cloud and
edge computing, digital identities, intellectual property management,
digital twins, and integration with the physical world. DeFi is still
quite far from perfect. Indeed, fungible and non-fungible assets are
constantly evolving to include more advanced functionalities as so to
increase their adoption. Moreover, DeFi was shown to be susceptible to
malicious activity, including fake NFTs, sleepminting, washtrading, rug
pull, pump and dump, Maximal Extractable Value and other scams. Finding
solutions to foresee and prevent such malevolent practices becomes
crucial for the true adoption of this technology. Lastly, blockchain
technology has some inherent limitations that are still to be addressed,
including creating efficient consensus protocols for public blockchains,
and secure channels for transaction confirmation among others.
The Web3 Applications and the eVolution of dEcentralized finance (WAVE)
workshop analyses the technological challenges and the potential of Web3
and DeFi applications. By bringing together researchers and
practitioners, the workshop aims to attract contributions that can
discuss how these emerging technologies can shape the future of
blockchain, and address the challenges of their adoption. Papers on both
theoretical and design aspects are welcomed, which describe and evaluate
novel design methods and system prototypes. The workshop also welcomes
work-in-progress and position papers.

The annual IEEE International Conference on Knowledge Graph (ICKG) provides a premier
international forum for presentation of original research results in knowledge discovery and
graph learning, discussion of opportunities and challenges, as well as exchange and
dissemination of innovative, practical development experiences. The conference covers all
aspects of knowledge discovery from data, with a strong focus on graph learning and
knowledge graph, including algorithms, software, platforms. ICKG 2025 intends to draw
researchers and application developers from a wide range of areas such as knowledge
engineering, representation learning, big data analytics, statistics, machine learning, pattern
recognition, data mining, knowledge visualization, high performance computing, and World
Wide Web etc. By promoting novel, high quality research findings, and innovative solutions to
address challenges in handling all aspects of learning from data with dependency relationship.
All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings by the IEEE Computer
Society. Awards, including Best Paper, Best Paper Runner up, Best Student Paper, Best Student
Paper Runner up, will be conferred at the conference, with a check and a certificate for each
award. The conference also features a survey track to accept survey papers reviewing recent

descriptive paper title with “Survey:”, followed by the actual paper title. For example, a paper

Literature Review of Streaming Knowledge Graph”. This is for the reviewers and chairs to clearly
bid and handle the papers. Once the paper is accepted, the word, such as “Survey:”, can be

For special track paper, please preface the descriptive paper title with “SS##:”, where “##” is
the two digits special track ID. For example, a paper entitled “Incremental Knowledge Graph

The B4EAI team (Best 4 Ethical AI) invites abstracts for the Workshop on Human-Centred Machine Learning: Bridging Design, Development, and Social Impact (March 6-7, 2025, Lugano – Switzerland), a two-day event focused on addressing critical questions about the ethically and socially responsible design and deployment of AI systems.
This workshop seeks to advance human-centred design principles and participatory approaches in AI development and contribute to the responsible adoption of these technologies.
Our workshop features a distinguished lineup of keynote speakers, including (in alphabetical order):
