*3rd International Workshop on the Internet of Sounds* *(part of Audio Mostly 2022)* September 7, 2022 - St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences https://audiomostly.com/2022/call/cfiwis/ [Apologies for cross-posting, please distribute] *Call for papers and demos* After the success of the first two editions, we are pleased to invite the community to submit to the 3rd International Workshop on the Internet of Sounds (IWIS 2022). The Internet of Sounds is an emerging research field positioned at the intersection of the Internet of Things and Sound and Music Computing domains. The workshop will be hosted at the Institute of Creative Media Technology of the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences (Austria) and will take place on the 7th of September 2022. The aim of the workshop is to bring together academics and industry to investigate and advance the development of Internet of Sounds technologies by using cutting-edge tools and processes. The event will consist of oral presentations, keynotes, poster presentations, demonstrations, as well as tutorials. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following areas: - Networked music performances - Web Audio for the Internet of Sounds - Networked Musical XR - Spatial audio for the Internet of Sounds - Cloud-based services for musical and audio applications - Wireless acoustic sensor networks - Detection and classification of sounds in acoustic sensor networks - Ecoacoustics - Privacy and security in acoustic sensor networks - Smart Musical Instruments - Musical haptics for the Internet of Musical Things - Participatory live music performances - Music education applications for the Internet of Musical Things - Intelligent music production in Internet of Musical Things contexts - Ubiquitous music - Sonification for Internet of Sounds applications - Protocols and exchange formats for the Internet of Sounds - Improving accessibility and inclusiveness within the Internet of Sounds - Open audio databases for Deep Learning and Data Mining - Challenges in the management and delivery of large audio databases - Visualization and Sonification of acoustic sensor networks - Sustainability aspects of the Internet of Sounds We consider contributions in the form of a full paper (min 5 pages, max 8 pages), a poster paper (4 pages), or a demo proposal (max 2 pages). Authors are welcome to submit to all three tracks. We encourage the submission of work in progress as well as more mature work. The event is being run alongside the Audio Mostly Conference ( https://audiomostly.com/) an interdisciplinary conference taking place between 6 and 9 of September. The participants to the workshop will have access to all the sessions of the Audio Mostly conference. All the best, María ***************** Sixth International Summer School on Computer Supported Cooperative Work *2**2-26 August 2022, Bolzano, Italy.* *About* The CSCW Summer School provides young researchers (PhD or post-doc) with the opportunity to deepen their understanding of CSCW as a research field and community. The interaction among the participants (both teachers and students) will promote the generation of new ideas and their confrontation with the experiences they have acquired in their field research. *Aims and scope* After the introduction of the acronym CSCW (Computer Supported Cooperative Work) in the late 1980’ the themes connected with the understanding of collaborative work practices and the design of artefacts supporting collaboration have become pervasive in many scientific, business and social discourses. The domains in which CSCW can inform sociotechnical design are constantly growing and changing. This asks for a continuous elaboration of the *theoretical foundations* of the underpinning disciplines through a reflection on the outcomes of the *field studies*, on the *methods* applied in the social and technological investigations and on the *impact* of the technologies on practices they are made part of. The combination of these perspectives should be the patrimony of any researcher who wants to grasp the complex and subtle issues that are involved in the CSCW research area. *Program* The course will present central themes, methods and discussions within CSCW by experienced scholars in conversations with participants. Dear all, this short email is to inform you that, since the editor of IxD&A Journal - ASLERD - became a member of Crossref, the Journal has now its own DOI, and from now on we will assign a DOI also to all papers that will be published in IxD&A Journal. The IEEE ISC2 2022 Organizing Committee is glad to announce that it is currently accepting papers for the 8th edition of the IEEE International Smart Cities Conference. This year, the IEEE ISC2 will be held in-person on September 26-29, 2022, in Paphos, Cyprus and the theme of the conference is “Community Smartification and towards ZERO emission Smart Cities for a Green New Era.” The IEEE ISC2 is the flagship conference sponsored by the IEEE Smart Cities Technical Community, a coalition of eight IEEE technical societies and organizations. Besides contributions addressing the conference theme, authors are welcome to submit their original research results in traditional topics across broad application and functional domains, within the context of smart urban infrastructure systems. Paper Submission Guidelines Prospective authors are invited to submit high quality original (Full or Short) papers via the EasyChair submission site at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=isc22022 . Full papers should describe novel research contributions with evaluation results and are limited to seven (7) pages. Short papers, limited in length to four (4) pages, should be more visionary in nature and are meant to discuss new challenges and visions, highlight early research results, and explore novel research directions. All submitted papers must be unpublished and not considered elsewhere for publication, should be written in English and formatted according to the IEEE Template ( https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html ). Each submitted paper will pass through the standard IEEE peer-review process.
